C3 AI and AWS share the common belief that generative AI will be a game-changer for enterprises by accelerating innovation and value capture from AI and machine learning (ML). Over the past few months, we have seen many innovative applications of generative AI in the consumer market. We are convinced that the implications for the enterprise will be even greater.

Today, as part of AWS’s announcement to invest in generative AI for the enterprise, we are keen to highlight the meaningful collaboration between our two companies in this space. Ahead of this news, C3 AI has had the opportunity to beta test the new AWS generative AI capabilities. We have been working to integrate and leverage AWS’s powerful new capabilities within the C3 AI Platform and applications to provide the best experience for our joint customers.

This new collaboration on generative AI is a natural extension of C3 AI’s partnership with AWS. Since 2010, C3 AI and AWS have been working together, accelerating the production deployment of powerful AI solutions that are helping the world’s largest organizations improve operating performance and unlock business value at scale. For example, Georgia-Pacific uses C3 AI Reliability running on AWS to improve the operations of their paper machines and industrial equipment and deliver significant annual economic value. The U.S. Air Force has deployed the C3 AI Readiness application on top of AWS’s services within a secure GovCloud environment to improve maintenance and uptime across 20 aircraft platforms. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office uses C3 AI Law Enforcement running on top of AWS to streamline investigations and integrate and unify five disparate databases.

At C3 AI, we strive to develop powerful products that make it easier and faster for organizations to leverage AI/ML applications to unlock value at scale across large, complex organizations. Generative AI is an additional layer in our stack. We have already made significant progress in generative AI with the launch of the C3 Generative AI Product Suite — a collection of products, including an enterprise search product that makes finding answers to critical questions fast and easy. This first product we released as part of this new product suite — C3 Generative AI for Enterprise Search — provides users with a simple interface to streamline information retrieval for the organization. This new interface will be included in all C3 AI’s pre-built applications and it can be built into custom applications developed on the C3 AI Platform. Using this capability, users can quickly find natural language answers to their questions, access all relevant references to source data, be able to interactively chat with the system, immediately retrieve relevant charts and graphs, and see longer lists of related information.

Building with generative AI tools and capabilities from AWS in combination with the C3 AI Platform and applications enables corporations to best take advantage of generative AI innovations. AWS lowers the barrier to entry for customers by providing them with best-in-class infrastructure that is both performant and economical, with the general availability of (1) Amazon EC2 Trn1n instances powered by AWS Trainium chips and (2) Amazon EC2 Inf2 instances powered by AWS Inferentia2 chips. Inf2 instances deliver up to 4x higher throughput and up to 10x lower latency compared to the prior generation Inferentia-based instances. Trn1 instances, powered by Trainium, can deliver up to 50% savings on training costs over any other EC2 instance, and are optimized to distribute training across multiple servers connected with 800 Gbps of second-generation Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking. Amazon Bedrock makes it easy to build and scale generative AI-based applications using FMs, democratizing access for all builders.

The C3 Generative AI Product Suite orchestrates a family of pre-trained large language models (LLMs), together with other, fine-tuned LLMs, deep-learning retrieval models, and other purpose-built AI/ML models. Some fine-tuned models are used to understand specific industry domains, functional domains, or applications areas.

We believe that the new Amazon Bedrock service from AWS, together with the next-generation AWS infrastructure, will help us streamline the orchestration of all the complex generative AI models and workloads required to unlock value at scale for the enterprise. Our partnership will help us increase the power and efficiency of the C3 Generative AI offering and decrease the time to value for our joint customers.

Generative AI will usher in a next wave of widespread adoption of AI in the enterprise. Every single customer experience and application will benefit from this technology. To best take advantage of these innovations, customers should turn to providers who have been developing transformational AI/ML solutions for years — C3 AI, running on AWS.
